Park Maintenance Worker (Semi Skilled Laborer) (Seasonal) - Hickory Run State Park Complex

In this position, you will be engaged in grounds maintenance activities, which encompass mowing and weed control using equipment such as riding mowers and weed eaters. You will also be tasked with cleaning grills, sweeping paved areas, digging, and maintaining drainage systems. Moreover, you will prepare planting sites, establish new turf, and care for trees and shrubs. To ensure the facilities are well-kept, you will clean and restock restrooms and perform minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs. Additionally, you will undertake semi-skilled tasks independently or assist a skilled worker with routine maintenance and construction activities at Hickory State Park. Your duties will involve repairing buildings and facilities, employing tools from carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other construction trades for maintenance tasks. Additionally, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of vehicles and equipment used within the park, which includes constructing basic forms for concrete projects with carpentry tools, mixing and applying cement, finishing surfaces with masonry tools, and building stone and block walls.

• Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
