DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will evaluate and perform accuracy assessments on weighing and measuring instruments utilized in commercial transactions. Additionally, you will examine commodities that are packaged, sold, or available for sale based on weight, measure, or count. Other responsibilities encompass auditing the inspections conducted by Certified Examiners of Weights and Measures, probing into claims of fraud and misconduct, and implementing enforcement measures when required.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position will be home-headquartered if applicant lives in Northumberland, Lycoming, or Columbia County. If applicant does not live in Northumberland, Lycoming, or Columbia County, the assigned state vehicle must be parked in one of these counties and the work day will start at 8:00 AM at the location of the assigned state vehicle.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of public contact work, including one year of experience in weights and measures inspections; and graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the requisite knowledge and skills and abilities with weights and measures inspections.

Additional Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
