The Loudoun County Health Department is seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to serve as a Clinic Nursing Supervisor. This leadership position plays a critical role in overseeing essential clinical services that directly impact the health and well-being of Loudoun County's diverse community.
Under the general direction of the designated senior manager, the Clinic Nursing Supervisor operates with autonomy and independence within the scope of their nursing license to oversee a range of vital medical services, including women's health, sexually transmitted disease care, refugee health services, school physicals, tuberculosis screenings, and immunizations.
This role integrates leadership, clinical expertise, and operational oversight to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborates extensively with healthcare providers, hospitals, and pharmacies to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Provides expert consultation and education to department programs and staff.
- Oversees nursing staff, laboratory operations, and medication services, including dispensing and auditing medications in compliance with Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Delivers direct patient care and conducts staff training to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Ensures effective coordination of medical treatment across all programs.
- Manages all aspects of assigned programs within the department, including grant oversight and budget management.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
- Resolves complex issues and assesses program effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and maximize resources.
- Engages with staff, other departments, and the community to foster collaboration and maintain exceptional customer service standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a professionally accredited college or university; four (4) years of related, progressively responsible work experience including one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Outpatient clinic management experience.
- Public Health Nursing experience.
- Three or more years in a nursing management role.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

- Possess and maintain an unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in Virginia.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification). Pass pre-employment background checks to include fingerprinting, NCIC, credit, and DMV checks.
- Pass TB test within 10 days of hire.
- Vaccination or proof of vaccination as required for Health Care Personnel by the Virginia Department of Health.
- Obtain any Department required certifications within established time frames of hire.
- Complete required OSHA and HIPAA training.
