Description & Requirements
As a Tax Manager, you will support the tax technical division of our Tax Professional Standards Group (PSG). Working under the broader Tax PSG leadership and the tax team's technical head, you will ultimately be responsible for the quality and risk management of Forvis Mazar's tax practice
As a member of the tax technical division, you will have opportunities to work with other members of the team and various internal tax engagement teams across the firm to help provide ultra-responsive customer service.
How you will contribute:
  • Liaise with tax specialty on projects and service offerings.
  • Conduct trainings and help to develop training materials.
  • Serve as a "Mini" Subject Matter Enthusiast (SME) in one or more areas. In this role, you will conduct consults and concurring reviews, as appropriate.
  • Assist in solutions development for the firm's tax practice.
  • Develop and publish tax technical FORsights in the form of alerts, articles, and webinars.
  • Provide support for the planning and conduction of internal inspections throughout the firm's footprint.
  • Conduct tax research and help draft memos to support client or firm tax positions.
  • Assist with the development and/or refinement of firmwide standard tax workpaper templates, guides, checklists, etc.
We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with all levels of internal/external personnel and key stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5 years or more of experience in Tax Consulting & Research
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong technical tax knowledge
  • Provide guidance, conduct consults and concurring reviews, and be a sounding board for questions throughout the firm
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Masters degree Taxation (substitute JD for masters degree)
  • 5 years or more of relevant progressive experience in public accounting tax including technical tax consulting and research

Illinois Wage Transparency
Pursuant to Illinois' Equal Pay Act, the salary range displayed is for the Illinois market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Non-exempt/hourly positions will be eligible for time and half pay for employees that work over 40 hours in a workweek. Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), bonuses, profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
