DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Technician, your work involves the application of bookkeeping principles and practices. You will perform advanced bookkeeping duties in recording, reviewing, processing, and controlling a variety of financial records and documents. This includes reviewing Purchased Services Invoices for accuracy and supporting documentation, coding invoices, and generating the monthly foster/kinship, adoption, and SPLC pay vouchers. This position maintains expenditure and budgetary control accounts and prepares reports relating to account and fiscal status. You will have the opportunity to set up new vendors and maintain and update data base and indexes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, or Washington counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
