Job Summary
The Accounts Receivable representative is responsible for working credit and initiating refunds of identified overpayment and resolving open discrepancies. This position also manages and reconciles financial transactions between the company and its patients.

What you will do
  • Resolves open credits in a timely manner consistent with government and commercial contract guidelines and if applicable initiates refund for patient or insurance payor.
  • Reconciles cash, checks and credit card payments daily from within the system working closely with the Finance Department to dissolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepares patient and insurance payments for payment posters.
  • Investigates missing checks or corresponding remits by following up with insurance companies.
  • Analyze aged refunds for stale dates.
  • Monitor and distribute patient copays and payments when applicable.
  • Maintain patient accounts by updating information and making necessary adjustments following clinic procedures.

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma and/or GED Required
Experience Qualifications
  • 1-3 years Minimum one year experience with insurance and reimbursement practice. Preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of computers and Windows based applications.
  • Knowledge of deposit requirements for all payment types, cash check, credit card, virtual cards, ACH/EFT, Care Credit
  • Ability to decipher who is primary/secondary/tertiary as well as HSA/HRA/liability guideline to determine refund processing
  • Understand requirements for refund and recoup processes for all payors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors
  • Ability to form work/patient relationships with patients and peers
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands
  • Fosters teamwork through effective written and verbal communication
