What You'll Do:

People Leadership & Safety. Promote a strong safety culture by motivating, coaching, and mentoring all employees. Set performance standards for employees and monitor performance. Provide guidance on all recruitment, training, development, and retention strategies.

Manage Shop Operations. Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of welding and machine shop activities specializing in crusher and fixed equipment repair and rebuilding. Establish and measure performance standards for technical and field support groups.

Sales and Project Management. Identify new customers, generate business, and maintain sales forecasts and pipeline information. Provide comprehensive quotes in response to customer needs/inquiries. Proactively integrate Engineering, Quality, Operations, Customer Service, and Shipping to resolve issues on existing projects and proposals to the customer's satisfaction. Provide feedback and input to the organization regarding markets, applications, and product trends that support the continuous expansion of company capabilities and services.

Ensure Economic Profit. Estimate repairs, maintenance jobs and associated cost tracking. Responsible for annual department budgeting and budget compliance. Continuously evaluates job performance and the effectiveness of the repair and maintenance program in an effort of continuous improvement.

Industry Best Practices. Responsible for assuring compliance with all internal and external laws, regulations, and policies regarding safety, health, and the environment within the assigned area. Knowledge of shop waste products, their environmental impact, and their proper disposal.


Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Experience. 5 years minimum experience in leading machine shops, manufacturing facilities, engineering departments, or skilled maintenance. Engineering Degree is Preferred but not required.

Leadership and Management Skills. Must provide strong leadership and guidance to employees, both direct and indirect reports. Must be able to motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships.

Operational Knowledge. Strong technical background with experience in skilled maintenance, machining, and/or manufacturing.

Interpersonal Skills. Must be an excellent motivator and team builder. Must be able to form strong social relationships and effectively communicate with internal and external audiences.

Financial Knowledge. Must possess knowledge and experience leading financial performance to established targets.

Flexibility. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
