Syneos Health Public Relations group seeks a Business Development leader to challenge the status quo and guide agency teams through winning pitch strategies. This individual strives for continuous improvement, loves innovative problem-solving, and thrives in a collaborative environment, fostering connections across teams.

As a key member of Syneos Health Communications' Public Relations group, the Vice President focuses on optimizing new business opportunity conversion and pitch excellence. The group includes award-winning healthcare agency brands Chandler Chicco Agency, Biosector2, Chamberlain Healthcare PR, and specialty groups in Corporate Affairs and Social/Digital.

Reporting to the SVP of Business Development and Marketing, the VP partners with agency leaders and new business teams to respond to RFPs and develop winning proposals and presentations. The ideal candidate has a balanced combination of PR agency account and business development experience, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, and problem-solving skills.

Areas of Focus/Key Responsibilities/What the job looks like:

  • Evaluate opportunities and identify needed services and resources
  • Quickly activate necessary agency resources and support
  • Guide teams on creating and delivering winning proposals
  • Ensure high standards in pitch storytelling, including story outline and slide development
  • Lead credentials and support material development, including sell-sheets, pitch theater materials, case studies, etc.
  • Create SOPs for effective and repeatable collaboration and delivery
  • Develop tools and resources for efficient teamwork
  • Analyze and address gaps through coaching, and new processes and resources
  • Promote sharing of information across all Syneos Health divisions
  • Support marketing projects (25% of time), including yearly planning, story pitching, awards submission management, editorial calendars

Requirements

  • Seasoned healthcare communications veteran with 10+ years of experience who possesses "hybrid" skills as a strategist and senior project manager
  • B.S./B.A. degree, preferably in marketing, advertising, communications or health-related field
  • A deep understanding of communications/PR business model and selling landscape
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/priorities at a time
  • 4+ years actively engaged in new business proposal development, including proposal writing
  • Skilled communicative team member with entrepreneurial spirit balanced with analytical thinking

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $150K to $170K. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
