Comp Range: 53,618.00 - 62,341.00

Position Overview

The Production Planner coordinates daily activities of the production planning departments in the form of production orders and schedules along with establishing priorities and sequences for manufactured products.

Duties & Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Follows and supports all Plant Safety programs and adheres to all safety policies.
  • Owns Supply Chain KPI's for manufactured goods including OTS, Past Due and Site Inventory.
  • Creates and maintains a master production schedule that fulfills customer demands and achieves optimal finished goods inventory levels.
  • Performs effective material requirement planning and management; confirms and directs material supply and demand requirements to ensure a controlled flow of raw and approved finished goods and materials timed to meet production requirements.
  • Actively resolves issues with demand, capacity constraints and material availability.
  • Maximizes production efficiency by balancing work centers and material utilization.
  • Works with Purchasing and Demand Planning to resolve any anticipated material issues.
  • Communicates the daily production schedule to the Production Team and alerts them of any scheduling changes.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, inventory levels, and potential production or material supply disruptions to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided on-time and at an optimal cost.
  • Supports material master steward in maintaining accurate planning parameters/material master data.
  • Participates in site Kaizen events as needed.
  • Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, demand planning, etc.
  • Adhere to all safe work practices and/or safety policies.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business or other related field; Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain or Operations preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in planning and procurement (i.e. using PFEP, planner/buyer, ERP systems)
  • MRP experience required (SAP experience preferably)
  • Experience working in the welding industry is preferred.
Technical Requirements
  • Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma training preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Competent with analytical modeling tools, (e.g. MS Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Planning, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA; sponsorship not available for this position.
Mobility & Travel Requirements

* Travel - flexible to travel up to 5% travel.
