Bachelor's Degree in elementary education and/or arts education |
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: |
Elementary education experience in the classroom and experience teaching arts (music, art, theatre, dance) to young children
NC teaching license preferred but not required. |
Duties and Responsibilities |
- Develop and implement age-appropriate Art curriculum for elementary students, using the NC Essential Standard for Art.
- Teach students fundamental Art concepts
- Organize and conduct Art activities
- Introduce students to a variety of Art genres, styles, and cultures.
- Prepare and organize performances for the middle and end of year Showcase.
- Assess students' art abilities and progress through observation, tests, and projects.
- Collaborate with the music coordinator to integrate music with other subjects and enhance overall learning experiences.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged and supported.
- Stay informed about current trends and developments in art education.
