Duties and Responsibilities:

* Safely maintains, repairs, calibrates, troubleshoots, and tests electrical, instrumentation, and controls for power plant/solar/battery energy storage systems (BESS)/synchronous condensers, including Balance of Plant support systems/equipment, in accordance with applicable site and regulatory compliance procedures and requirements.
* Apply and remove mechanical grounds on high voltage conductors when qualified (Electrical specialty designation only).
* Implements plant improvements and modifications.
* Operates forklifts and aerial lifts as needed.
* Performs safety and equipment inspections, and environmental inspections as assigned by work order.
* Reports issues/abnormal conditions to supervision/management and recommends corrective action.
* Reads and interprets instrument, electrical, and control drawings to identify and troubleshoot problems and performs job preparation for maintenance and repairs.
* Safely handles and disposes of hazardous materials and waste generated by work in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
* Provides and receives peer-to-peer on-the-job training related to instrument, controls, and electric maintenance tasks.
* Performs administrative duties and uses computer technology and work management systems to access work orders and input maintenance activities.
* Identifies parts needed for maintenance activities.
* Reviews and assists in developing policies and procedures.
* Coordinates, monitors, and inspects contractor work for quality, safety, and completion.
* Assists other plant personnel as needed.
* Performs housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe work environment.
* Performs vehicle maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

* Must have the ability to absorb formal training and schooling.

* Candidates must have at least 5 years of instrument and controls experience in a generation facility or similar industrial facility.
* Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
* Must be able to safely use, handle, inspect, and perform maintenance near sources of equipment containing hazardous energy, hazardous chemicals, and hazardous wastes as those terms are defined under various safety and environmental regulations.
* Must be able to select and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
* Must be able to wear a respirator.
* Must be able to frequently enter confined spaces; climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders, walkways, and aerial lifts at elevations up to 100 feet or more; crawl through confined areas; correctly wear and work using half-mask respirator; lift a minimum of 20lbs in awkward positions and 50lbs from the floor to the waist; and work in adverse weather.
* Must successfully complete forklift training.
* Must be willing to complete training in instrument, controls, and electrical proficiencies.

* Must have basic math skills.
* Must have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
* Must have basic computer skills.
* Must be proficient using appropriate process testing instruments, power tools, and basic hand tools.
* Must be able to distinguish between red, blue, and green colors.
* The role requires frequent movement, including walking, bending, lifting, and reaching. Must be able to move effectively and efficiently within the workspace and related areas.
* Will be required to work overtime, which includes extended days, callouts for emergency work, weekend work, and holiday work.
* Required to travel between local facilities (PEC Only).

This is a Union Represented position - Represented by Local IBEW 465.

Note: The salary for this position is governed by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement.
