In this role, you will perform entry through journey-level professional engineering duties that will include the review of detailed traffic, paving, grading, drainage, storm drain, water, sewer, dry utilities, and landscape construction drawings. You will fill an important role in the development of Maricopa County while helping to assure a safe and organized built environment Work with and in conjunction with the full list of transportation-related professionals, including development firms, home builders, contractors, utility companies, local municipalities, and state regulatory agencies You will provide clear and accurate technical guidance to other departments, consultants, attorneys, other regulatory agencies, and the public regarding environmental regulations, testing issues, zoning ordinances, traffic issues, floodplain issues, etc. You will be one of the Maricopa County Department of Transportation's key plan reviewers, ensuring that permitted improvements within County rights-of-way comply with all applicable design standards You will collaborate with County field inspectors to assure construction proceeds according to approved plans and permits About Us We value your time. This defined retirement benefit requires a 12.27% monthly contribution rate and includes a 100% employer match on Day 1 Learn more at Work With Us \| Maricopa County, AZ We Require Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field Two years of applicable civil engineering experience either reviewing or preparing construction drawings Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration or by the technical board of another state, with the ability to obtain Arizona Registration within six months of employment Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire We Also Value Experience in plan preparation and review of private development projects and for projects occurring within public right-of-way.
