Job Summary Gateway is hiring for a senior-level PR Marketing Coordinator/Graphic Designer to join our team! The Marketing Department at GateWay Community College is seeking an enthusiastic, self-starter who has a strong desire for continuous learning. Reporting to the PR Marketing Director, this position manages and assists in the development of all marketing materials providing creative concepts responsible for layout, design, and production across print, signage, digital (social media, billboards, campaign ads, website), video, and PowerPoint presentations. A successful candidate in this role has strong and creative design skills, pays attention to detail, and has strengths in animation, graphic design and illustration. Video editing and illustration experience is also preferred. Required proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software including Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator and InDesign. Essential Functions 60% - Creates and produces design work for print, signage, digital media, websites, and will produce video editing/graphics when needed. Coordinates, researches, plans, executes, and reviews design projects for GateWay Community College's external/internal advertising, marketing, digital content, web, and social media purposes while ensuring the overall brand and standards of the college and district are maintained, using the style guidelines and standards as reference. Executes advanced design work on projects as assigned for the college and possibly for the district. 20% - Maintains design files, photos, logos, and project management system records, keeping track of deadlines and communicating the progress of each project and member. Assists in planning, organizing, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of staff. Participates in the hiring activities for the department and college. Aids in planning and overseeing creative design implementation, allocating and monitoring the workflow of staff. Leads and advises clients on design plans and visual recommendations for marketing projects. Creates and presents design advertising concepts to clients and the internal marketing team. Collaborates with internal and external clients and vendors (i.e., printers, photographers, specialty items, agencies) 10% - Serves on college project teams for brainstorming/creative team/staff meetings and responds to requests from staff and clients in a timely manner. Attend/help in person with special events. 10% - Adheres to applicable policies and procedures; performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in graphic design or related field and four (4) years of professional journey level experience in developing, planning and implementing creative visual design projects and campaigns. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (Mac preferred) including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. (skills in Premier Pro, After Effects, Dreamweaver, and HTML are preferred). B. Experience in concept layout, typographic skills and executes brand look and feel through all print and digital elements. C. Experience prepping files for vendors and strong attention to detail. D. Experience with online systems, (i.e. Google, CRM, Canvas, Wrike, Drupal, etc.) Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint. E. Experience working with a diverse population of students and clients.
