Client: Mortgage Client Duration: 12+ months Location: 100% Remote EST hours Role: Business Data Analyst Required Skills Business/Data Analyst who is technical with the skills below: * Python * SQL * Redshift * Tableau Preferred Experience on quantitative risk team is a plus, or dealing with models. Mortgage Services experience nice to have. Description The individual is responsible for Business & Data Analysis. The group is revamping their Model Risk Management system, as part of an Enterprise-wide initiative to transform Model Governance. The BA/DA is responsible for defining requirements into actionable workflows, translating requirements into technical specifications, migrating to new architecture, testing requirements, and leveraging data sources to manage workflows. Experience with Credit or Market Risk models is a nice to have. Potential candidates must be experienced in gathering requirements from Business users and validating those against data in system through complex SQL querying. Python programming experience is required to consume information. Financial Services experience is preferred, specifically Model Risk Reporting - understand Risk Management Models in Financial organization or other common finance terminology. BA/DA is responsible for taking requirements, translating into technical specifications, and preparing presentation decks for Business. Complex SQL querying required. Develop queries, analyses, or reports from applications for operations or management staff of assigned business unit(s). Write requirements, working day to day with data dictionaries and source-to-target (STTM) mapping documents. This position will require some project management and release management activities, so experience or aptitude in these areas is preferred. Experienced with reconciliation of data. Responsible for running reports to validate what they are seeing against what the Business is asking them for. Understand how to get accurate data through database queries. Candidates must have experience with AWS databases (S3, RDS, PostgreSQL or Redshift), complex SQL querying. Python Programming / Coding experience is required. Data cleaning, Immutable, Object Code - ability to consume information that is written in Python code. Tableau Reports Development experience. Familiarity with Tableau Server environment, dashboards, and visualizations. Required Skills* AWS Database Services - candidate has some experience creating queries using AWS database services, such as RedShift, RDS or S3 for backend data analysis. oUnderstand database structure oPython coding - for data cleaning. SQL skills is a must ... candidate displays proficiency in writing complex queries, joining tables, etc. oSub queries oSequences oLike conditions The BA/DA daily responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: oGather requirements from Business, work with Dev/Test teams to validate, create SQL queries to pull data from AWS systems, prepare data in consumable format for Business. oCapturing and documenting requirements, supporting Agile ceremonies, being the POC to dev and test resources. Reporting - oGood Experience of using Microsoft suite like Excel/Word/Power point as its heavily used in our projects. oExperience in Tableau, JIRA, Confluence is a must as these are tools, we use day-to-day. oModel Risk Management type of reporting and documentation experience. oPivot Tables, VBA Macros, VLOOKUP oComplex Logic for gathering information off a report. Source to Target Mapping documentation. (STTM) oData reconciliation oData mapping oData validation - pulling data from multiple tables and comparing results Testing experience is preferred (UAT) oBe prepared to give an example of recent SQL / Backend Testing project. CLEARLY explain your day-to-day functions, looking for problem solving skills. SQL Testing / ETL Testing skills, writing queries, testing backend data as it flows from upstream to downstream. And AWS experience (RDS/RedShift) oStrong SQL query creation and manipulation skills oExperience with XML generation and manipulation skills oJSON and/or XML files - validate documents. oSource to target mapping, and SQL querying.
