TITLE: Die Technician C

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Die Builder: To support converting department by producing new cutting dies, the repair, and modification of dies during converting production. To continually communicate with management, lead operators, and operators in order to produce or modify cutting dies in ways that increase converting production efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six (6) months of experience in Die Shop
  • Good oral, written, and organizational skills.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Hammer steel rule into die board.
  • Glue ejection rubber to die board.
  • Verify inventory for general tooling needs.
  • Verify inventory for special rule and or punches for upcoming tooling.
  • Communicate with management, lead operators, and operators about performance of tooling.
  • Continue to seek ways to improve tooling for more efficient production in converting.
  • Learn to Operate Easy Bender SDS for die rule process.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
  • Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.



TRAINING:



  • Inteplast Basic Required Training (OSHA)
  • Inteplast Basic Required Training (Safety)
  • ISO Awareness - The Basics
  • On the job training with Shift Supervisor as well as training from Senior or Plant Management



AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING:



  • Maintain and monitor cutting dies.



MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:



  • Daily PPE i.e. Steel toe shoes, Gloves, glasses and hearing protection (when needed)
  • Computer for bending rule process
  • Basic hand tools i.e. drill, saw, hammer, sander and the etc.
  • Utility knife
  • Tape measure
  • Easy Bender SDS: die rule processing



PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:



  • Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist. Example: Changing paper in printer, copier machine.
  • Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Example: Giving signals, reaching for material or handle on item.
  • Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time. Example: Making copies, giving presentations, directing traffic.
  • Walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
  • Pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
  • Fingering, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
  • Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; via face to face or telephone.
  • Hearing, perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40 db loss @ 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz and 2,000 Hz with or without correction. Ability to receive verbal communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
  • Repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Example: Filing, sorting mail, starting ignition of machinery.



VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:



  • Visual acuity:
  • Clear vision at various distances.
  • Depth perception:
  • The ability to judge distances accurately.
  • Peripheral vision:
  • A wide field of view to detect movement.
  • Color vision:
  • Ability to distinguish colors for safety signage and potential hazards.
