What you'll do

In this critical role on AlixPartners' Corporate Services team, you will support the design, development and implementation of high-quality reporting, meaningful analytics and actionable information and insights about IT financial operations and cost allocations. You will be a key member on the team that drives and maintains quality technology cost data, as well as ensures cost alignment across other IT CRS functions to meet our business objectives.

The IT Strategy and Operations Financial Analyst is a full-time role reporting to the IT Finance and Procurement Lead with a preferred location of Southfield, Michigan. Paid relocation is not available.

  • Support invoice processing and code invoices to proper GL accounts and ensure appropriate approval for processing.
  • Assist with managing vendor inquiries.
  • Continue to build company-wide, dependable IT Financial Operations metrics and relevant data sources; develop strategies for effective data analysis and predictive analytics.
  • Assist with month end close accruals for IT; work with Accounting and FPA to research and correct any month end actual expenses variance
  • Participate in the Annual Budget and Monthly Forecasting.
  • Maintain software documentation in CLM solution and enhance metadata. (for CRS)
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of monthly operational results reporting to leadership
  • Review procurement requests, confirm accuracy and budget alignment. Seek approvals and complete request as needed.
  • Assist in developing visualizations and reports to share your findings and make recommendations through understanding and working with large volumes of data from multiple sources.
  • Proactively find inefficiencies in reporting and suggest enhancements, document suggestions, and present proposals to team with confidence.

What you'll need



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of professional experience
  • Experience with SAP S/4Hana and/or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) a plus
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, including how to use pivot tables, lookups and other complex functions necessary to conduct non-routine data audits. Knowledge of Smartsheet and Service Now a plus.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and business requirements, suggest innovative strategies and assist in the implementation of complex solutions.
  • Experience with reporting; professional services environment highly preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English from both business and technical perspectives.
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills with a penchant to provide high quality work.
  • Desire to learn new skills and continuously improve.
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible and react to changing priorities under time constraints; assist team members in adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
