Position Title: Security Manager

Location of Position: United States -- Wisconsin -- Sturgeon Bay

Business Group: Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding

Position Type: Full-Time; Permanent; Exempt

Position Summary: This position is responsible for the establishment, continuing development, implementation and administration of the internal facility security functions of Bay Shipbuilding Company. Acts as the key contact with DISCO and other government and customer security personnel. Oversees day to day facility security of personnel, contractors, visitors and on-site customer personnel. Ensures that all Bay Shipbuilding personnel are properly trained in all aspects of security, including personal security, company security polices and handling classified data and material. The Security Manager will also handle all parking lot issues.

Detailed Description:



  • Develops and administers all facility security procedures relating to access control, classified materials, visitor control, badging, and facility security.
  • Controls granting personnel security clearances and maintains all records.
  • Conducts security education and training classes. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.
  • Conducts annual inspections and reviews to ensure compliance with NIPSOM standards.
  • Responds to alarms or other security issues.
  • Performs security functions to include briefings, visit requests, badges and training.
  • Assists in controlling annual Security Budget to meet goals and objectives.
  • Assumes additional security responsibilities as appropriate or requested.
  • Report unsafe conditions or acts to the appropriate supervisor;
  • Report all injuries, no matter how minor, to your supervisor or First Aid Department;
  • If a job cannot be performed safely, do not proceed. Report to your supervisor immediately;
  • Do not operate or make repairs to tools, equipment, or machinery unless specifically authorized;
  • Report any tool, equipment and machinery malfunction or damage immediately. Do not operate tools, equipment or machinery that is not in proper working order;
  • Utilize the required personal protective equipment and keep it in good condition;
  • Do not wear loose clothing, rings, necklaces or other jewelry if they can become caught or tangled in moving equipment or machinery in the work area;
  • Do not work while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs;
  • Avoid horseplay and other behavior that could lead to injury.
  • Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises contractor security service personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Demonstrates leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Associates Degree in related field or 5 years' experience minimum as an FSO or Security Manager/Supervisor. Relevant military career training and experience is acceptable.
  • Experience with handling, transmitting, and safeguarding classified material.
  • Experience in conducting in-house security training.



SKILLS:



  • Good working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), and ability to implement NISPOM requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and time management skills. Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written communications.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.
