Join us as a Research Program Coordinator and assist Dr. Linsey Steege on groundbreaking projects that span multiple grants and scholarly initiatives. This dynamic role offers a unique blend of responsibilities, including managing research portfolios with federal funding, working with research sites, developing research protocols, managing research-related websites, and drafting research findings for publications and presentations.

By integrating nursing and engineering research and practice, we develop tools and strategies to support health professionals and improve care in various settings, including primary care, acute care, and long-term care.
Starting FTE is negotiable, with 50-100% being desirable.
About Dr. Linsey Steege's Research: Dr. Steege's research is dedicated to enhancing the health, safety, and performance of healthcare professionals, ultimately aiming to improve healthcare quality for society. She leads an interdisciplinary team that employs a variety of methods, including human factors and ergonomics engineering, to analyze and design healthcare systems. Her work focuses on measuring and modeling the safety, well-being, and performance outcomes of health professionals. Dr. Steege is also passionate about designing and implementing systems-based interventions to enhance communication, teamwork, and decision-making processes among health professionals, thereby improving patient outcomes and overall healthcare quality. Some of Dr. Steege's research includes a pragmatic clinical trial intervention to improve functional outcomes of hospitalized older adults by increasing nurse-initiated patient ambulation multiple studies investigating the sleep, fatigue, and psychological well-being of hospital nurses during and after the pandemic; and studies of strategies to monitor and address work-related fatigue in hospital nursing staff. Dr. Steege's recent studies have been funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the American Nurses Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health.

Responsibilities:
Plans and coordinates the administrative, operational, outreach and promotional activities related to research studies that may be collaborative and independent. Serves as a subject matter expert.
- 35% Coordinates the daily activities and contracts related to one or more research program(s)
- 5% Assists in the development, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences to disseminate research program developments and information
- 30% Plans, develops, and implements processes and protocols to support research aims
- 10% Serves as a unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholder groups, collaborates across disciplines and functional areas, provides program information, and promotes the accomplishments and developments of scholars and research initiatives
- 10% Monitors program budget(s) and approves unit expenditures
- 10% Develops policies, procedures, and institutional agreements on behalf of the program

This position requires most work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. The person in this position may request and be considered for a partial formal remote work agreement based on guidelines set forth by the School of Nursing, and/or may be provided with remote work flexibility as needed and approved by the supervisor.

Salary:
Minimum $70,000 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications The expected salary for this position starts at a rate of $70,000. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, the employee in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays, and other paid time off, competitive insurances and savings accounts, and employer sponsored retirement benefits.
