About Our Team:

The primary objective of our organization is to assure that the US nuclear weapon stockpile remains safe, secure, and reliable as the underlying basis of the US nuclear deterrent capability. Department members provide the technical and programmatic leadership for system-level laboratory and flight-testing programs for stockpile air delivered weapon systems. In support of weapon modernization programs, we collaborate to develop requirements for the weapon, future testers, and new data analysis software. Ultimately, we provide engineering support for the life cycle of the weapons, including special studies, testing and data analysis, and leading root cause investigations that can stem from testing. Conducting the data analysis and reporting on weapon performance requires a thorough understanding of the technical performance of the weapon and data collection systems. We are responsible for communicating test results to our customers and stakeholders through presentations or written reports. Each department member is encouraged to pursue continuous improvement in personal technical capabilities, teaming skills, and innovative processes and procedures to be able to effectively manage a growing myriad of increasingly complex technical challenges.
