The Admissions Department at the Prescott Campus is searching for an Admissions Counselor/Territory Manager. Do you have a dynamic personality? Do you love to speak in public and in front of large audiences? Do people comment often on how personal you are and how much you care? Do you consider yourself talented when managing logistics? Have you worked as an Admissions Counselor in Higher Education already? If so, we would love to get to know you!

This position executes a recruitment plan by using available resources to meet targeted enrollment goals to include; national travel promoting ERAU in a variety of forums, creating relationships with high school guidance, consultants and college counselors, maintaining continuous contact with prospective students during the admissions process, and staying current on industry and campus news that could impact the prospective student.

This position requires extensive travel (8-10 weeks per year, plus evenings, weekends, holidays when necessary).

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the assigned regional territory by adhering to the Admissions Standard Operating Procedures including: Prospect, applicant, admit and matriculate management that provides continual written, electronic and telephone communication to students, which generates interest, encourages them to apply, assists them in the admissions process, etc.
  • Review and approve applications for admission to the University, and recommend admissions decisions to the Director
  • Plan, manage and participate in off campus recruitment events
  • Sign up for college fairs, arrange meetings at high schools with prospective students, secure venue locations for admissions meetings in designated geographic market
  • Manage all aspects of recruitment travel in assigned territory
  • Evaluate recruitment travel on an ongoing and year-to-year basis for opportunities of improvement, cost savings and strategic plan growth
  • Meet with prospective students and families to provide counseling on various topics to include: academic offerings, career outcomes and financial aid, etc.
  • Create and implement a territory specific recruitment plan to meet targeted enrollment goals
  • Remain current on University degree programs, national admissions standards and policies, financial aid, status of campus and facilities. Possess and maintain current knowledge of aviation, aerospace and security industry and trends.
Qualifications

The following qualifications, skills, and traits are requisite to the position:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to deal positively with the public using strong public relations skills.

  • Effective listening skills and ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationship with others.

  • Self-motivated and self-assured with capacity to see projects through to successful completion (i.e. follow-up)

  • Willingness to travel extensively (8-10 weeks per academic year), work evenings, weekends and possibly minor holidays.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must meet the University's standards for approved drivers. Unacceptable driving records (as stated in the Use of Equipment and Vehicles Procedure 1.17) include the following (for three years from the date of each occurrence):

    • Three (3) or more at-fault accidents and/or moving violations in the previous 36 months.
    • Two (2) or more at-fault accidents or two (2) or more moving violations in the past year.
    • Conviction for driving while impaired (DWI, DUl within the last five (5) years).
    • Conviction for death by vehicle, hit and run, racing, careless and reckless driving, implied consent in the previous five (5) years.
    • Serious violations result in immediate disqualification and revocation of driver privileges. The following are examples of serious violations:
      • Speeding over 15 mph of the posted limit, driving under the Influence of alcohol or drugs, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless or careless driving, Use of vehicle in (drug trafficking, reckless homicide, soliciting), unlawful use of weapons, driving under suspension or revocation, fleeing a police officer, vehicle theft, Improper or illegal lane change, following too close, and passing a stopped school bus while stop sign is engaged.
  • Support co-workers in their assigned territories as needed, including but not limited to travel and presentations.

  • Analytical skills with knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.
