The Student Recruitment Counselor (SRC) is a full-cycle recruiter working with prospective students to provide them with accurate information allowing them to make an informed decision. They may represent the university on occasion at educational fairs and tradeshows, as well as other post-secondary enrollment events. Working within the Student Recruitment Division, the Student Recruitment Counselor assists with the development of recruitment plans to meet targeted projections by implementing innovative as well as effective recruitment tactics and initiatives. The Student Recruitment Counselor is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with prospective students through matriculation; assisting prospective students inquiring about various educational opportunities available through the Worldwide/Online Campus; manage projects as assigned; and assisting other departments such as admissions and advising as required. This position supports excellence in student services at every opportunity and seeks to continuously maintain a healthy relationship with university, military, and corporate affiliations. All SRC's are required to utilize multiple resources and tools throughout their day to day activities for the purpose of effective recruitment.

Qualifications

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma
  • Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of excellence in Customer Service and/or 2 years of recruitment experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 1-5 years of Financial Aid experience.
  • Proven track record for consistently meeting deadlines with the ability to tactfully handle difficult situations and maintain composure under pressure, often under tight deadlines.
  • Must be a dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic individual with professional recruitment experience in higher education.
  • Must have analytical skills, and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications including Salesforce.
  • Must demonstrate exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate a high standard of personal conduct, professionalism, and integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality is vital.
  • Must be able to provide excellent customer service to coworkers, staff, students, faculty, and customers.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a willingness to seek guidance and direction as necessary for the performance of duties.
  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail to ensure a high degree of accuracy of all content.
  • Must be able to recognize and deal with priorities, recognize and perform duties not directly assigned.
  • Must be able to investigate, problem-solve and take corrective action.
  • Moderate travel required.

Required Schedule/Availability (all times are EST):

Flexibility for hours Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Requirements to be able to drive a university vehicle:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid, US driver's license. In some instances, a valid Class C (CDL) license may be required.
  • Must meet the University's standards for approved drivers. Unacceptable driving records (as stated in the Use of Equipment and Vehicles Procedure 1.17) include the following (for three years from the date of each occurrence):
    • Three (3) or more at-fault accidents and/or moving violations in the previous 36 months.
    • Two (2) or more at-fault accidents or two (2) or more moving violations in the past year.
    • Conviction for driving while impaired (DWI, DUI within the last five (5) years).
    • Conviction for death by vehicle, hit and run, racing, careless and reckless driving, implied consent in the previous five (5) years.
    • Serious violations result in immediate disqualification and revocation of driver privileges. The following are examples of serious violations :

Speeding over 15 mph of the posted limit, driving under the Influence of alcohol or drugs, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless or careless driving, Use of vehicle in (drug trafficking, reckless homicide, soliciting), unlawful use of weapons, driving under suspension or revocation, fleeing a police officer, vehicle theft, Improper or illegal lane change, following too close, and passing a stopped school bus while stop sign is engaged
