Role & Essential Functions

Buffalo Manufacturing Works, operated by EWI, is a one-of-kind center for advanced manufacturing. We are focused on developing, maturing, and implementing new technologies that have an impact on the clients we work with and the communities in which they live. Our customers are based across the country and include world-class leaders in the aerospace, automotive, consumer products, electronics, medical, energy & chemical, government, and heavy manufacturing industries. Located in Buffalo, New York, we are dedicated to building a nationally recognized hub of manufacturing innovation and are looking for smart, entrepreneurial, and driven people to help us achieve this goal.

EWI provides a rich learning environment for undergraduate and graduate students seeking opportunity for practical application of metallurgical, welding, mechanical, materials science, industrial engineering and allied fields. Engineer Interns will assist Engineers and Technicians in project work and perform tasks which allow EWI to operate more efficiently as a whole. During the program interns will transition from a technical labor-based position to that of a functioning engineer, gaining exposure to different industries and technologies along the way.

We are currently looking to add an intern to our additive manufacturing (AM) team. You'll get exposure to a wide range of AM projects and activities with the team. During the summer term, interns are expected to work 40 hours per week. If the opportunity is available, interns may be able to work in the fall and spring semesters for a defined number of hours per week in coordination with the student's curriculum.
