Position Summary Leonardo DRS in Cypress, CA is seeking a Manufacturing intern to support operations staff in process and continuous improvement in support of production operations. The candidate must be a well-organized self-starter, able to work in a team environment, have good communication and technical skills, and able to professionally interact with other departments. Basic Qualifications and Required Skills Pursuing undergraduate degreein an Engineering curriculum, 3rd Year status minimum Must be enrolled in an accredited university and maintain a 3.3 or higher GPA Proficiency in Microsoft Office tool suite Be available to work part-time (10-20 hours per week) Excellent attention to detail Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work well both as part of a team or as an individual Ability to manage multiple short-term projects simultaneously Ability to use hand tools for assembly and disassembly of mechanical engineering parts Job Duties and Responsibilities Work closely with the Operations Manager in the conduct of various engineering assignments Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices Maintain organization of an engineering equipment library Implement lean manufacturing tools on the production floor Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with existing products and make modifications and improvements as needed Provide regular reporting of progress and status Complete assigned tasks on time Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Other duties as assigned Working Conditions Normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work Physical activity includes the handling and moving of equipment (up to 50 lbs) The expected pay scale for this position is $20.27/hour - $27.87/hour. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly.
