Description

The Sr. Accountant will partner with the Manager of Accounting to ensure accurate daily and monthly activities are being performed to complete accounting requirements and meet reporting deadlines. This role works closely with each member of the General Accounting Team as well as the Billing, Accounts Payable, Credit and Collections, Financial Planning, and Analysis and Operation teams on month-end analysis and contributes to reporting for Senior Management. You will also be responsible for the application of IFRS and US GAAP accounting principles and procedures to a variety of accounting issues and transactions to analyze financial information, to ensure appropriate accounting application and provide accounting documentation.

Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to

  • Manages daily and monthly accounting activities e.g., recording journal entries, recording accruals, performing Billing and uploading billing files, posting company credit cards transactions, posting payroll entries, managing monthly Inter-Company transactions with counterparties within and outside of Sinch, maintain fixed asset activities and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepares monthly financial statements and monthly reporting and analysis requirements associated with monthly reporting in Sinch consolidated reporting system (AARO)
  • Prepares balance sheet and income statement variance analysis and account reconciliations for the Company
  • Provide variance analysis to historical periods and forecast as applicable for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Collaborate with colleagues to secure information and resolve issues, including partnering with other groups (e.g., Accounts Payable, Billing and Collections, FP&A) as it relates to proper recording of Accounting transactions
  • Participate in migration and implementation activities related to new ERP system conversion
  • Provide requested accounting records and support to the external auditors during audit
  • Drive the implementation of new procedures as applicable to meet changing business demands
  • Provide backup coverage for areas within the General Accounting Team
  • Perform and participates in ad-hoc requests as directed by Management
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in public accounting
  • Experience with QuickBooks online
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup formulas
  • Strong accounting and financial analysis skills
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to both standard and complicated accounting procedures
  • Inter-company and multi-currency experience
  • Must be a self-starter and have excellent organizing abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, inclusive of strong multi-tasking skills, focus on meeting deadlines, thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
  • Experience in accelerating the monthly close process
  • Experience in ERP system implementation preferred

The annual starting salary for this position is between $77,705.00 - $97,132.00. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
