A Brief Overview
Supervises the security command center operations and the primary base officers for the security department. Dispatches security personnel to ensure a timely and appropriate response for all calls for security services.

What you will do

  • Responds to all phone lines in the Operations Center.
  • Always answers the 45500 security emergency line before any other line that may be ringing at the security base station.
  • Answers other non-emergency security lines at the security base station.
  • Immediately dispatches security officers in response to any emergency. Provides a timely response to all other non-emergency calls for service (i.e. escorts, room openings).
  • Keeps shift Sergeant informed of any security problems brought to the attention of the security base station.
  • Monitors CCTV.
  • Checks CCTV monitors regularly and reports any security violations to the shift supervisor. Dispatches security officers to any location where a problem is observed.
  • Reports any problem with CCTV technology to the Technology manager and the shift supervisor.
  • Monitors access control terminal.
  • Operates, updates and maintains information with respect to the campus access control system.
  • Documents alarm points and permits access to restricted areas as appropriate.
  • Coordinates all security technology with the Technology Manager.
  • Coordinates Incident Reporting and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD).
  • Ensures that all activity is entered in CAD.
  • Issues incident report numbers and maintains incident report electronic log.
  • Maintains shift assignment sheet and makes changes as directed by shift supervisor.
  • Maintains electronic trouble log and makes entries as notified of problem areas by officers.
  • Maintains any other logs, (i.e. key log) as directed by shift supervisor/assistant director.
  • Takes immediate action during emergencies.
  • Contacts appropriate persons during any emergency situation, using two way radio communication, Everbridge, ASCOM blasts, text paging, overhead paging and any other means necessary to ensure that the appropriate persons are notified using the appropriate communications tool.
  • Locates and interprets hospital and/or departmental policies during any emergency.
  • Notifies shift supervisor and on-call administrator when appropriate.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Criminal Justice Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience in specialized areas of law enforcement/corporate/hospital security. Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to operate a company vehicle and/or be insured on a CHOP policy. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

  • PA Act 235 - Pennsylvania State Police - upon hire - Required and
  • Driver's License - Department of Motor Vehicles - upon hire - Required
