FTE: .1, Shift: Days, Schedule: Variable Position Summary MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's is seeking a board certified Pediatric surgeon and leader to join our well-established, thriving and comprehensive group practice in Washington. Essential Functions
Directs the professional medical care rendered by physicians and APPs in the Hospital in accordance with established Medical Staff Bylaws; all Department Rules and Regulations; and Hospital/Outpatient Surgery policies and procedures specific to ambulatory care. Actively participates in the development, maintenance and periodic review of policies, procedures and protocols within the subspecialty ensuring evidence-based care of inpatients and outpatients. Participates in clinical practice guideline, pathway, protocol, and order set development. Assists as needed with the resolution of patient care problems such as, but without limitation, patient access to care, emergencies and professional medical disputes involving patient care. Plays a key role in quality improvement and utilization management activities related to patient receiving relevant care services from Hospital in all settings (ambulatory, emergency, inpatient ward, pediatric and neonatal ICU, operating room) Attends and participates in such Hospital and Medical Staff Committees as are necessary to carry out the duties as Medical Director, including [Pediatric collaborative meetings, monthly Pediatric combined operations meetings, relevant Pediatric sub-committees, medicine, surgery, and perioperative service committees. Participates in peer review and selection process of new physicians as requested. Supports and participates in activities to ensure compliance with meaningful use requirements and patient electronic medical records. Oversees the process of relevant care delivery and transition of care. Assures the adequate coverage of pediatric relevant services. Actively participates in performance measurement and process improvement activities, including the following: Assumes professional, consultative, organization and administrative responsibility for resource utilization management. Chairs any relevant local Pediatric Committee meetings Attends any relevant Collaborative meetings and participates or delegates subgroup activities to appropriate department members Cooperates and supports all regulatory/compliance statutes as may be required of the Hospital Proactively works with physicians and administration to develop, implement and monitor cost saving initiatives Cooperates and works collaboratively with Hospital Quality Personnel Works to oversee and facilitate collaborative care delivery among all physicians and APPs care. Conducts rounds to assess the appropriate level of bed placement for patients with active relevant diagnoses.
Qualifications
Board Certified in one of the relevant medical specialty, including but not limited to Pediatric Orthopedics, Pediatric General Surgery, Pediatric Neurosurgery or Pediatric Otolaryngology Licensed in the state of WA by the time of employment DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Pay and Benefit Expectations We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $346,000.00 - $482,000.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
