We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Services Engineer to join our team. Reporting directly to the Manager of Technical Services, you will provide advanced technical support for customer processes, troubleshooting, and can/end failure investigations at customer locations. You will leverage your extensive knowledge in 2-piece and 3-piece steel can and steel end manufacturing to deliver exceptional service and solutions to our clients.

What you will be doing:

  • Adhere to all company and customer safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment.

  • Regularly travel to customer locations to provide on-site support.

  • Utilize your technical and regulatory expertise to certify steel cans and ends.

  • Initiate and lead customer complaint investigations, gathering samples and relevant traceability information.

  • Collaborate with customers to quarantine suspect products while minimizing operational disruptions.

  • Lead and assist in sorting or containment activities at customer locations.

  • Provide comprehensive training to customers on steel food cans, ends, and double seam evaluation.

  • Prepare detailed specification documents and customer communications.

  • Conduct statistical analysis of manufacturing data to identify trends and improvements.

  • Communicate technical details clearly and concisely to customers.

  • Develop strong relationships with internal manufacturing locations and external customers.

  • Support plant and technical projects as needed.

  • 50-75% travel to customer or internal manufacturing locations.

We would love to hear from you if:

  • Bachelor's degree in a physical science or engineering field (Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Packaging, Mechanical/Chemical/Metallurgical/Materials Science Engineering).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in: Industrial or academic laboratory settings, Food or personal care products manufacturing, Food, beverage, or consumer products manufacturing, Steel, coatings, or corrosion testing/engineering.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build relationships.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.

  • Strong data analysis and statistical analysis skills.

  • Demonstrates self-awareness and uses feedback to improve.

  • Instills trust through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

  • Relates openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people.

  • Consistently achieves results, even under challenging circumstances.

Compensation:

The annual base salary for this position is below. A higher base salary may be available depending upon experience and qualifications.

Engineer I role is from $67,040 to $75,420.

Engineer II role is from $80,320 to $90,360

Engineer III role is from $100,560 to $113,130, plus an annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary.

Engineer IV role is from $116,160 to $130,680, plus an annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary.
