The award-winning Historic Preservation program at Bucks County Community College is seeking part-time faculty to teach courses including but not limited to building conservation.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Master's or PhD in Historic Preservation, Historical Administration, Public History, Cultural Resources/ Heritage Management

OR

  • Master's or PhD in American Studies, Anthropology, Archaeology (Historic), Architecture, Art History, Engineering (Civil), Folklore, Geography, History, Landscape Architecture (Historic), Museum/Library/Archival Studies, Planning, or closely-related field

    • With a Historic Preservation Certificate (graduate or undergraduate) from a NCPE-accredited school; OR

    • 18 graduate credits in Historic Preservation, Historical Administration, Public History, Cultural Heritage/Resources Management

Professional Practice:

  • At least 6,000 hours (equivalent of 3 FTE years) documented professional practice in historic preservation/public history

  • Available to teach in various delivery modalities (synchronously and asynchronously) and at times (days, evenings, Saturdays) necessary to meet program needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with technology used in the practice of historic preservation work

  • Experience teaching at the college level
