Job Summary:

MedStar Health is currently seeking a licensed Behavioral Health Therapist for our Department of Psychiatry at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital to provide clinical assessments and short-term psychotherapy for individuals with psychiatric disorders.

As a Behavioral Health Therapist, you will provide individual and group psychotherapy services using evidence-based treatment modalities, with occasional family meetings as needed. In this role, you will develop and monitor treatment plans for patients and participate in hospital training programs to maintain certification. Additionally, you will supervise therapy trainees and perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Duties:

* Provide individual and group psychotherapy services using evidence-based treatment modalities. Develop and implement treatment plans and monitor treatment progress.

* Maintain current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Identify personal learning needs and initiate actions to address these needs.

* Attend hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department. Complete all mandatory requirements, certifications, and licensure within the allotted timeframe for completion (CPR, license, PPD, competencies, age specific, etc.)

* Consistently display professionalism in interactions with patients and families, staff, and physicians.

* Provide psychotherapy supervision for therapy trainees.

Qualifications:

* Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling

* Minimum of 2 years mental health experience

* Washington DC licensure as required by discipline and CPR

This position has a hiring range of $56.25 - $63.17
