Summary Perform inspections and tests on incoming material, in process and finished product to ensure that the quality standards and process controls are being met throughout the manufacturing process. Generate the appropriate documentation, records, and reports. Support Quality, Technical support, Engineering, and Manufacturing as needed. Under general supervision, assures that the product is within required specifications. Maintain a good working relationship with all involved in sales/marketing, engineering, production, and management to allow for timely resolutions of any questions or problems about or with product specifications. Maintain good interdepartmental relations and maintain regular contact with shop floor employees and suppliers as required. This position must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures Quality management system and Health & Safety program conformance.
- Active participant of Safety committee and Emergency response teams.
- Evaluates, modifies, develops and implements program procedures, instructions and forms.
- Supervise QC technicians, key performance indicators and department performance metrics.
- Monitors customer complaints, field install issues, product returns, and warranty data.
- Maintain statistical data, analyze quality and safety trends, and initiate a team based 8D problem solving and root cause analysis sessions, using various problem-solving methodologies.
- Results driven, with ability to make timely and effective decisions through planning, evaluating and implementation of business goals & objectives, management systems, policies and programs stressing accountability and continuous improvement.
- Perform and coach teams to conduct quality audits, health & safety inspections and maintain documentation for Gemba walk discussions.
- Manages quality non-conformance and corrective action reporting for continuous improvement efforts.
- Manage health & safety observations, near-miss incidents and injury investigation and 8D reporting.
- Leads quality and safety continuous improvement projects.
- Perform and coach QC technician and floor leads in product work in process, final assembly and first article quality inspections as required.
- Maintain reject material logs, material disposition and lead the material review board meetings. To include material disposition and supplier follow ups with purchasing agents.
- Proactive approach informing and recommending solutions to management on QC issues. Generate engineering change request (ECR) as required for continuous improvement.
- Maintain calibration and asset control, ensuring all equipment used for monitoring, measuring and testing on the production floor is calibrated and functioning properly at required frequency/intervals.
- Proficient in the use of mechanical inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, go/no-go gages and other electronic inspection equipment.
- Coaching and promoting a positive attitude and safe work atmosphere in accordance with company EHS and OSHA policies.
- Must be self-motivated and capable of working unsupervised maintaining company quality management and safety standards. While reporting to the QHSE Manager on-site or remotely.
- Occasional traveling, as required. 5-10% of the time

- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Leading change & change management efforts - ability to drive for improvements.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Technical writing - development of programs, procedures, instructions and forms.
- Excellent computer software skills, including use of Microsoft office programs.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Effective training and communication skills with key stakeholders and employees.
Education/Skills
- 2-4-year degree in engineering technology or related technical field or
- 4 years of relevant experience in Quality, manufacturing and health and safety.
- QMS Auditor (preferred - not required)
- OSHA 10/30 hr. training

Working Conditions
- Standard office environment. Frequent sitting or standing for extended periods.
- Occasional to frequent walking in and around manufacturing plants.
- Able to wear appropriate PPE, including hearing/eye protection, gloves and safety shoes.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds alone and greater than 50 pounds with assistance (2-man rule)
Performs duties as required for task completion. Physical effort is moderate; must be able to lift 50 pounds; stoop, bend, reach overhead, stretch and stand for long duration's and capable of unassisted mobility around all Manufacturing Areas, including office buildings, and company owned and/or operated grounds.
