Overview

Job Summary

Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.

Essential Functions

  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those programs.
  • Manages projects in all aspects of information systems lifecycle (info planning, business requirements definition, implementation, productions support). Communicates and manages project scope.
  • Coordinates with multiple vendors. Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities, but requires instruction and guidance in other phases.
  • Creates business process for chosen packaged systems. Configures packaged systems.
  • Ensures all user requests are received in writing and properly evaluated. Responds to request in a timely manner.
  • Guarantees efficient and effective completion of project assignments in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Assists in the resolution of issues regarding projects being worked on and develops recommendations for those issues.
  • Assists in work plan development and management.

Preferred Functions:

  • Provides classroom instruction to new and existing team members on a variety of revenue cycle topics (including hard and softskills), with emphasis on the technologies and processes team members need to know to perform their jobs.
  • Presents information using a variety of instructional techniques to meet educational objectives and regulatory compliance requirements that impact business functions. These techniques include role playing, simulation, team exercises, group discuss ions, videos, e learning and lectures.
  • Provides other types of training beyond the typical classroom setting; for example, small group precepting, deskside support, virtual conferences, and other forms of training, as needed.
  • Provides onsite or virtual go live support to revenue cycle team members during implementations, affiliations, and other significant operational changes.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training activities and the progress of learners; provides feedback to Revenue Cycle Training leaders on team members who are particularly excelling or struggling; as well as provides input to Instructional Designers on
    opportunities for adjustment to course content. May assist with development and refinement of training materials.
  • Maintains a high level of revenue cycle knowledge to provide support to existing revenue cycle team members through the HIT ticketing system, centralized e mail questions, and phone discussion on designated days. Works collaboratively with other departments to resolve support issues.
  • Stays up to date with all changes to training materials and on industry and educational best practices and incorporates this information into training content.
  • Provides support to Quality & Systems and Workflow Optimization teams through process validation and testing when assistance is required.
  • May assist HIT project teams in the testing and training of new applications within system revenue cycle areas; provides feedback that enhances training quality and/or troubleshoots system issues.

Physical Requirements
Work is subject to high-level visibility through verbal and written communications with senior hospital management, associated project deadlines, personnel evaluation, and counseling. Must be available for on-call support on a regular basis. Must be able to lift objects that weigh up to 35 lbs. Due to project requirements, overtime will be required, as needed.

Base Pay: $62,712.00-$94,120.00 annually

Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training
Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job

Education, Experience and Certifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related job field preferred. Experience in Microsoft Office, databases, Software Development packages, programming languages, SQR, Crystal, Unix and AIX. Experience in an educational background should have Information Systems or Business-Related internships or Part-time employment experiences. Two years work experience with IS Technology preferred. Health care industry experience preferred.
