The Quality Engineering Technician II position is responsible for providing technical support for Quality Groups. Responsibilities include troubleshooting products, determine action items and resolving problems, evaluation of components, and processes, collection of data.

Approach and Deployment



  • Ensure that hearing aids, hearing aid accessories, and their components perform to desired specifications.
  • Perform evaluation and qualification testing of hearing aids and their accessories, components and processes. Document results with written reports.
  • Perform validations.
  • Follow work request to perform all validation tests and report to Quality Engineer any discrepancies. Assist as directed to correcting discrepancies or establishing new procedures.
  • Ensure work requests are clear and accurate.
  • Execute validations in a timely manner.
  • Ensure validations are able to be worked on independently.
  • Communicate Quality issues to Quality groups.
  • Attend departmental meetings to communicate problem(s) occurring with component and procedures.
  • Actively seek out Quality groups to communicate results
  • Execute action items and solutions.
  • Utilizing Department supplier, PIP, and product grids.
  • Provide manufacturing support.
  • Communicate quality issues to the quality engineer.
  • Perform failure analyze/Troubleshooting to discover failure modes and mechanisms.
  • Use troubleshooting skills and laboratory equipment effectively to find the root-cause of the failures.


Process improvements



  • Write and review procedures for product qualifications and evaluations
  • Process Test Report Requests for timely completion.
  • Organize Quality Lab area for maximum work flow, including equipment storage.
  • Maintain storage system for retention of test report samples.


Results



  • Test Report request output and workflow Monthly
  • Test Report accuracy Monthly
  • Operation & maintenance of quality lab equipment
  • Ensure organizational flow of quality lab area Annually


Other Duties



  • Support Starkey Employee Corporate and/or Department Guidelines.
  • Check and verify quality.
  • Support corporate health and safety objectives.
  • React to change productively and handle other essential duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • 2-year technical degree and/or 5 years' relevant work experience required.
  • ASQ CQT Certification is highly preferred or willing to get.
  • ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred or willing to get.


Experience



  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office and Excel is
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.


Skills & Abilities



  • Excellent organizational/documentation skills required.
  • Excellent analytical skills required.
  • Ability to read schematics required.
  • Ability to follow written test plans independently.
  • Strong soldering skills desirable.
  • Good communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of electronics preferred.



Salary and Other Compensation:

The target pay range for this position is between $22.21/hr to $30.29/hr. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
