Starkey is hiring a Sr Technician - Troubleshooter at its global headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. This position is responsible for various hearing aid line positions to ensure proper assembly of custom-made hearing aid products. This includes Planning, Casing, Cut/Trim/Buff, and Final. As the Technician learns additional job functions and job knowledge, various levels are assigned to the technician.

JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB
This position is responsible for various hearing aid line positions to ensure proper assembly of custom-made hearing aid products. This includes Planning, Casing, Cut/Trim/Buff, and Final. As the Technician learns additional job functions and job knowledge, various levels are assigned to the technician, which includes:
* Job Title: Associate Technician: In training
* Job Title: Core Technician 1: Certified in 1 function, trained in 1 function
* Job Title: Core Technician 2: Certified in 2 functions, trained in 1 function
* Job Title: Senior Technician: Certified in 3 functions

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Planning: Prepare the shell and plate for wiring while ensuring that all options will be placed correctly in the hearing aid.
o Plan where options will fit on the faceplate, and where vent should be placed.
o Drill vent and sound holes.
o Inspect box for correct label and parts.

* Casing: Verify sound and cosmetic quality of hearing aids
o Listen to the hearing aids for sound quality and adjusts alleviate oscillation or feedback.
o Check for any cosmetic defects, repair as necessary

* Cut, Trim, Bevel and Buff hearing aid.
o Cut off excess plastic, bevel, and buff aid to desired look.

* Finaling: Ensure hearing aid final appearance is up to standard and ensure all options are added according to design specifications
o Verify the functionality and quality of the hearing aid,
o Add all Final options.

* Wire: Wire aid from start to finish using correct components according to CQ.
o Add options (i.e., pots, caps, switches, wireless, etc.) to plates according to Design and CQ.
o Listen test aid to ensure aid and options are working properly.
o Check drain and verify drain is within specs with CQ.
o Verify correct components and wire correctly if aid is not working properly.

* RTA: Operate the real time analyzer
o Ensure the hearing aid is cosmetically correct.
o Conduct a listening check on each aid.
o Ensure the hearing aid is within ANSI specifications.

* Hearing Aid Analyzer: Analyze Custom and Standard Hearing Aid Devices
o Analyze Hearing Aids/Customer complaints using electronic equipment (multi-meter, drain meter, RTA)
o Analyze Hearing Aids/Customer complaints using Inspire Software
o Record component failures, Code complaint and actions, Order replacement parts
* Record failures using the Pareto System and CQ Repair Analysis System
* Record repair codes on order form
* Order Replacement parts on order form

o Communicate Quality issues
* Communicate quality issue to PM-Quality-Technicians
* Attend Departmental meetings and communicate issues with components and procedures
* Communicate information to Tech Support
* Complete Repair Analysis Worksheets

* Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot Custom and Standard Hearing Aid Devices
o Analyze/Troubleshoot product failures.
o Provide Electronic Support.
o Communicate product changes.
o Communicate documents, process and product non-conformities.
o Record product or components failures.
o Communicate Quality issues to Quality groups.
o Determine action items and solutions.
o Check and verify quality

* Act as back-up on other team positions as needed.
o Flex into other positions when needed.

* Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education
o Ability to read and comprehend information on standard work instructions

Experience
o Certification is achieved once an employee reaches Certifications Standards of job knowledge, quality measures, and output based on each job function.

Knowledge / Technical Requirements
* Knowledge of parts of the ear and/or hearing aids is required.
* Knowledge of Starkey's computer systems required.

Working Conditions
* PPE must be worn when using machinery such as: Drill, Redwing motors, and buffing motors.
* Jobholder may have noise and dust in work area.
* Jobholder is infrequently exposed to hazardous chemicals
* Sitting 95% of workday

Salary and Other Compensation:

The target pay range for this position is between $21.47/hr to $25.04/hr. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
