Position Function |
The Student Information Systems (
SIS) Functional Analyst for the Registrar's Office is a member of Ball State's Student Systems and Reporting group. The
SIS Functional Analyst coordinates efforts for technological initiatives, develops systems related to student services, and provides technical support for hardware and software within the office. The
SIS Functional Analyst works to maintain student records and collaborates with Banner developers to enhance user experience within the Student Information Systems (
SIS). This position implements the requirements and process improvement into actionable plans to be implemented by key stakeholders, including Information Technology Services and third-party vendors. |
Minimum Education |
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university by date of appointment. Or, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree: an Associate's degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT/technology equivalent to 2 years. Or, a high school diploma or
GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT/technology equivalent to 4 years. |
Minimum Experience |
At least one year of experience with enterprise student information systems, specifically Ellucian Banner, with a track record of increasing experience and responsibility. |
Minimum Other |
Strong problem-solving skills; ability to develop and maintain complex
SQL queries; proven management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate project status and provide leadership/direction for an implementation process; programming skills with Banner-related products. |

Keeps abreast of technological changes that may enhance the services provided by the office. In conjunction with the Director of Student Systems and Reporting, develops and writes functional specifications and works with developers to implement modifications to the system. |
