Atrium Health Levine Children's is seeking a full-time highly skilled and motivated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing team.

Shelby Children's Clinic is the largest Pediatric practice of Levine's' Children western division. We currently have 10 physicians and 3 APPs in our Shelby location, as well as 3 physicians at our satellite office in Kings Mountain. Having been opened since 1955, Shelby Children's Clinic is well established in our community and surrounding areas, providing the highest quality care. Our providers work closely with the School Based Virtual Team and offer Virtual Visits as an option to our families. We have access to specialist within the area as well as Charlotte to serve our patients who may require a referral. Shelby is nestled in the foothills only an hour away from Charlotte and Asheville. Our city offers a bustling and festive uptown with a wide array of dining, art and entertainment or everyone.

Essential Functions

• Primary Care Setting
• Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and follow-up for a shared or owned panel of patients or may handle on a by-visit basis.
• Manages multiple chronic illnesses, performs minimally invasive procedures, and works with a stable patient population.
• Recommends screenings and tests based on patients' demographics.
• Manages health care within protocols mutually agreed upon by physician and APP team members.
• Identifies abnormal findings early and initiates appropriate intervention.
• Participates on committees and in research as appropriate.

On-Site/Teammate Health Clinic Settings

• Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and follow-up for patients on a by-visit basis, including virtual visits.
• Manages acute illnesses or chronic medication administration and works with a stable patient population.

Qualifications:

• Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works.
  • Nurse Practitioner
    • Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. AGPCNP, FNP, PNP-PC, or ANP certification according to population served.
  • Physician Assistant
    • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Master's Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
