What you will do

As a Staff Mechanical Engineer, you will be a member of our custom product design team. In this role, you will have an influence on the conceptual development, mathematical analysis, detailed design, and overall performance of sophisticated refrigeration products and systems. As a recognized technical subject matter expert this role will also provide support to the salesforce, factory production, laboratory, service, applications, and marketing teams located globally.

How you will do it

  • Use standard and sophisticated engineering principles, concepts, and processes.
  • Research equipment operation, materials, industrial processes, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Investigate and analyze product design requirements and recommends optimum solutions.
  • Proficient in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product.
  • Utilize mechanical engineering theory and methodologies such as heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and failure analysis.
  • Develop mathematical calculations and formulas using multiple variables, and analyze results.
  • Establish test criteria, participate in laboratory testing, and analyze test data to identify chiller performance characteristics.
  • Work closely with the design and drafting group in generating product layout concepts and system configurations.
  • Responsible for the on-time completion of projects.
  • Generate user documentation.
  • Continuously increase expertise on all aspects of product design, theory, construction, operation, and applications.
  • Learns and applies regulatory codes such as UL, ASME, and API.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and teamwork in a global product development and process environment.
  • Help train other engineers and designers on design concepts and processes.

What we look for:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited)
  • Minimum 10 years of applicable experience
  • Experience with Compressors
  • Packaging experience is a plus
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint for presentations and Microsoft suite of Applications (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Internet software and E-mail is required. Knowledge in SAP is helpful but not required.
