Scope of Position The Senior Compliance Outreach Officer serves as the key resource for Compliance, Quality, Information Technology and Supply Manager for the Laboratory Outreach Team. The Senior Compliance Outreach Coordinator must support the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives of the organization and demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the public and co-workers. The Senior Compliance Outreach Officer works independently and interfaces directly with laboratory medical directors, division and operation directors, managers, technical/nontechnical staff and clients providing expertise in various Quality, IT, and Laboratory tasks. Position Summary The position of Senior Compliance Outreach Officer will function as in integral part of the laboratory operations outreach team. The Senior Compliance Coordinator is responsible for compliance (quality, safety, survey readiness) and Information Technology support for the Laboratory Outreach Team. The Senior Compliance Outreach Officer will actively engage and support contracted clients of OSU Reference Laboratories (OSURL) through customer service, test audits, quality reports, financial reports, billing audits. This team member will focus on compliance and quality initiatives including, maintaining the procedure manual; writing and implementing policy and procedures; servicing as the Safety Officer; and maintain primary oversight of quality metrics and quality assurance. This team member provides excellent customer service: answering calls and emails related to client/patient information, results, tests, supplies and releases information within the HIPAA guidelines and troubleshoots as needed while apply industry knowledge and understanding on concepts. This team member communicates with laboratories/laboratory personnel both internal and external regarding patient testing, entering results, requisitions, etc. while maintaining appropriate records. This team member also serves as the Information Technology resource understanding, troubleshooting and improving workflow related to IT, Middleware and Ordering. This Compliance Officer also maintains inventory control logs while ordering supplies, sending supplies and maintain the storeroom area along with other procurement duties. Minimum Qualifications For Hire: Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or Biological Science with Medical Technology certification (must be obtained within one year) and 4 years of clinical laboratory experience. Skilled in use of Excel, Power Point, Access, Front Page, Adobe PDF Maker preferred. Experience, education, and/or certification in compliance programs preferred. Ability to interact effectively and as an advocate with physicians, staff, and external parties. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ongoing: Maintains certification status. Meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence in the technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. |
