The opportunity

The Knowledge Management Consultant explores technical writing and content-based solutions to provide staff members with accurate information at the right time, in the right place. The KM Consultant supports the operations of the Student Experience Knowledge Management (SEKM) team, working with Student Experience team members to update and create business process documentation, promote knowledge management best practices, and maintain accurate information to support Student Experience staff in their work with students. The Knowledge Management Consultant brings a curiosity to the role, a willingness to support fellow team members and helps to support the learning culture of the team.

This is a remote friendly position (#LI-Remote). You will report to the Knowledge Management Manager.

In this Role You'll Get To:

  • You will document processes and business knowledge, create procedures to maintain information integrity. Distribute to the appropriate audiences and maintain version control.
  • You will maintain information in the Knowledge Base and make updates by editing or creating articles, working with subject matter experts (SME), and partners on projects.
  • You will develop the skills to work with Student Experience team members to identify opportunities and improvements to content structure, appropriate knowledge base use, and knowledge sharing structures by applying knowledge management best practices.
  • You will develop a point of view on ways to socialize Knowledge Management principles.
  • You will identify when policy changes necessitate training, communication, knowledge articles, or meetings.
  • You will work with Learning and Development to identify knowledge gaps to ensure accurate training content.
  • You will participate in team level evaluation of work queue, projects, and priorities.
  • You will participate in team level content maintenance, including article review cycles.
  • You will work on small to medium content projects as the KM SME, including program launches.
  • You will identify and begin to develop areas of expertise, such as:
  • Taxonomy and Metadata
  • Knowledge Cafe and KM Outreach
  • Change Management
  • Lessons Learned/After Action Review
  • Accessibility in written, digital communication
  • Project Management
  • Other KM Specific Methodologies
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What we're Looking For:

  • One year of related work experience
  • Degree(s): Bachelor's degree in related field (technical writing, English, linguistics, or library science) Equivalent experience in lieu of degree acceptable
  • Experience conveying technical information to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong social and communication skills, including the ability to work with Student Experience team members and senior leadership.
  • Learn technical concepts and end user systems.
  • Strategic and creative thinker with a keen attention to detail and a strong focus on systems thinking.
  • Organize content, interpret policy, and make recommendations.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $46,894.00 - $75,045.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $51,878.00 - $70,107.00.
