As the client's trusted project managers, we oversee all aspects of vertical construction projects, from design coordination to on-site supervision. Our team ensures seamless communication among stakeholders, streamlines workflow processes, and closely monitors progress to ensure adherence to schedules and budgets. THE OPPORTUNITY

NV5's Owner's Rep Group is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong focus on project controls, scheduling, and project team leadership. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining various aspects of our projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a background or degree in engineering, architecture, and/or construction management with a minimum of ten (10) years of project management experience, preferably in public work.



Responsibilities

Client Engagement:

    Engage with clients as the primary contact for the NV5 project team.
  • Interact with client executives in all aspects of project delivery.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead project teams on behalf of NV5 clients.
  • Assemble and manage internal and external project teams including planners, public agencies, architects, consulting engineers, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Lead the development of projects from inception to completion by defining scope, schedule, and budget in alignment with client strategic goals.
  • Manage and provide mentorship and guidance to junior Project Managers and/or cohort staff, overseeing their development and ensuring successful project execution.

Procurement Leadership:

  • Develop and evaluate RFPs, public and private bid documents, and contracts.
  • Assist in the process of determining requirements for and lead the process of obtaining permits, entitlements, and other requirements of Authorities Having Jurisdiction.

Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project).
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule risks.
  • Provide clients with strategies to optimize project timelines.

Cost Control:

  • Monitor project expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Track project expenditures and submit/recommend to client for payment.
  • Develop, maintain and report scope, schedule and budget status throughout the project, including review and recommendation of all project invoices.
  • Ultimately responsible for internal NV5 project controls and performance, such as fees and proposals, staffing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and client satisfaction.

Project Control:

  • Review and monitor design and construction document preparation from concept design through final completion, including review of change-management documents.
  • Develop and monitor project organizational and administrative systems.
  • Create and maintain, or monitor, comprehensive project documentation.
  • Regularly inspect and document, and monitor design team, construction observations.

Other:

  • Contribute to the proposal writing process in pursuit of new business.
  • Manage and provide mentorship and guidance to junior Project Managers and/or cohort staff, overseeing their development and ensuring successful project execution.
  • Collaborate on the development of in-house training for staff.
  • Assist with developing new business.


Qualifications

  • A qualified candidate for this position will have10+ years of project management experience, preferably in public work.
  • Background or degree in engineering, architecture, and/or construction management.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a related industry, providing oversight for junior project managers.
  • Proven experience with MGL. Chapter 149, 149A, 30 procurement.
  • Exceptional time management and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Cost estimating, scheduling, financial management, and budgeting expertise is strongly preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Experience with MS Office, Bluebeam, scheduling software, and budget management software is required.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaborate effectively with other members of the project team.
  • Must always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
