Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Procurement Manager, the Senior Procurement Specialist manages procurement activities, administers purchase of goods and services, and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. The position negotiates, prepares, and processes complex contracts, leases, and procurement documents for a wide variety of equipment, materials, supplies and services. The Senior Procurement Specialist uses expert knowledge of the supplier evaluation and selection process and manages the process for high value/high risk projects. The Senior Procurement Specialist will work closely with the Finance & Accounting team, assisting with special projects. This person will be an integral part of the Finance & Accounting group and will work and support the entire organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Review and approve contract requests within the system to ensure completeness of information.
  • Work with Security, Privacy and Legal teams to ensure contracts are approved and compliant with SOX requirements.
  • Analyze data and recommend process improvements.
  • Prepare and automate performance metrics using data from the ERP system.
  • Provide end-user instruction and support for procurement applications.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing and company policies when reviewing approved purchase requisitions and creating and issuing Purchase Orders.
  • Create requisitions in Dynamics, ensure compliance with purchasing and company policies, and route for business approvals.
  • Provide first line of defense to ensure vendors are meeting delivery/service milestone dates.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects as assigned.
  • Conduct spend analyses of procurement categories to identify cost savings opportunities.
  • Prepare and conduct Request for Proposals (RFP) utilizing templates and tools.
  • Identify, implement, perform and document key SOX controls for respective area.
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies for respective area.
  • Work closely with the various departments of the company to understand new product offerings or new markets and procurement implications
  • From time-to-time this person will be tasked with special projects that will interact with the various Finance & Accounting teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education

Preferred: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree

Experience

Minimum Years of Experience:



  • 6+ years of experience with a mix of Procurement, Accounting, Finance or IT involving duties such as: soliciting, evaluating, negotiating and awarding contracts.

  • Self-starter with the ability to use initiative to solve problems and resolve issues
  • Team player; works well in a team environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial terms and conditions and adept at conducting win-win negotiations with suppliers with tact and professionalism
  • Ability to be flexible, while managing changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with ERP and IT and systems



Working Conditions and Physical Requirements



  • Punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
