Information Technology M&A

The Infrastructure and Managed IT Services (MITS) practice is establishing a small team of people to focus on careveouts, integrations, optimizations and other merger & acquisition (M&A) activities in the private equity (PE) industry. This team will be responsible for scoping and managing execution of large enterprise projects across multiple business and technical domain areas. Members of this team are expected to have a solid technical background in conjunction with proven business acumen - these roles are 75% consultative and 25% technical. This team will:

  • Provide Infrastructure and MITS focus to cross-functional and enterprise-scale engagements
  • Identify opportunities where Infrastructure and MITS teams should be engaged and assist in identifying appropriate technical leadership and resources
  • Act as the information technology functional leader within xMO-led programs
  • Lead M&A Sprint activities
  • Build relationships with and support Enterprise Account Leaders (EAL)
  • Represent Infrastructure and MITS within Strategic Account teams
  • Act as a compliment to existing Management Consulting M&A and Complex Delivery Lead engagements

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate workshops to gather and document business and technical requirements, while identifying challenges and potential synergies
  • Contribute to workstream deliverables
  • Stay up-to-date on technologies, solutions, and architectures to optimize information technology functions
  • Support multiple cross-functional workstreams within one or more programs
  • Provide thought leadership through writing and presentation
  • Network internally and externally to develop sales opportunities
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to clients, while managing their expectations
  • Interact and communicate effectively
  • Provide analysis, development and documentation of improvement opportunities
  • Effectively document and communicate your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience working in information technology space or relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Enthusiastic about travel Monday through Friday up to 45 weeks a year
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including high-impact client-facing communications
  • Broad technology background in one or more of the following:
    • Traditional infrastructure such as server, storage, network, voice, and desktop
    • Technology applications and services including identity and access management, containerization, integration platforms, monitoring solutions, and cloud services
    • Traditional and services based architectures
    • Supporting line of business applications such as ERP, HRIS, and MES
    • Traditional and modern security solutions such as edge and endpoint security, CASB, and DLP
  • Understanding of IT operations and organizational structures
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and projects
  • Ability to think outside-the-box and apply creative solutions to technology issues
  • Critical thinking and the ability to apply theoretical concepts to solve business and technical problems
  • Basic understanding of IT application lifecycle and general controls
  • Experience delivering IT consulting services/solutions which encompass strategy, people, processes, and technology & infrastructure components
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Visio

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $103,300 - $207,400

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
