POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Solutions, LLC is excited to offer an incredible opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team and support Western Area Power Administration (WAPA). The Electrical Engineer will perform various electrical engineering tasks in support of Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) Rocky Mountain Region (RMR) Transmission Planning.

The Electrical Engineer will:



  • Perform, review, and provide comments on system impact studies, affected system studies, and feasibility studies for Generator Interconnection and Transmission Service requests involving WAPA's Open Access Transmission Tariff.
  • Provide technical support and review procedures and reports for Transmission Planning and Power System Operation studies and tasks.
  • Provide technical support and review procedures and reports for Transmission Panning related to North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standard compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Requirements:




  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Electrical Engineering experience with a minimum 10-years cumulative experience in transmission planning and NERC standard compliance.
