Boise Cascade Wood Products has an opening for a Laminated Beams Sales Rep I. This is a hybrid/remote position that will require attendance of meetings/ events at the Homedale and Boise locations as scheduled.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for sales and marketing activities that execute wood products' sales and production plans that obtain the highest profit based on optimum product mix and supply chain optimization. Travel up to 15% of the time is required for customer engagement events in addition to team trainings in Boise.

  • Responsible for customer relationship management which may include recordkeeping, credit applications, forecasts, budgets and credit collections site visits, addressing customer complaints, resolving product performance and quality issues.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely customer order intake, quoting, and general product or process questions and inquiries. Candidate must be able to prioritize workload and make sound reasoned decisions in line with Boise Cascade Core Values and Engineered Wood Product's business objectives.
  • May monitor logistics for key customers, supply chain inventories and transportation logistics to optimize efficiencies, avoid stock-outs, order fulfillment, on-time delivery, inventory turns, accurate forecasts, rates, may negotiate rail contracts.
  • May be responsible for evaluating and implementing product pricing based on market conditions.
  • Attain and maintain proficiency in knowledge of product attributes, design values, technologies to be first point of contact for plant and customers
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Reading blueprints and performing material take offs. Working with customers and engineering to ensure products specified meets structural requirements.
  • Collaboration between the production team and customers to ensure commitments made to customers are in line with mill capabilities and commitments are delivered as promised.
  • Maintain relationship and constant communication with market Area Managers to stay up to date with latest market trends, developments and needs.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

College degree, or equivalent work experience in related job function. Business degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience in sales preferred. Experience in the lumber/ beam industry is preferred. Broad knowledge of business administration, marketing, or procurement management a plus. Effective communication, negotiating and computer skills required. Strong Excel skills are required. Ability to develop strong working relationships internally and externally. Strong candidate will have experience in drafting and design.
