St. Francis School of Law seeks a dynamic, student-centered Dean to lead and expand its fully accredited online law program. This pivotal role shapes the school's strategic direction, champions academic excellence, and fosters an innovative, student-focused learning environment.

Offering a rigorous JD program with the flexibility of online learning, St. Francis School of Law is fully accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California, preparing students for success in the legal field.

The Dean will provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation, and oversight of new academic programs, identifying opportunities for innovation, ensuring effective execution, and evaluating outcomes to align with institutional goals and enhance student success. This includes initiatives such as the launch of the Executive Juris Doctorate program beginning Fall 2026. Additionally, the Dean will ensure compliance with accreditation standards, particularly those set by the California Bar Examiners and the Higher Learning Commission, while fostering strong professional relationships within the legal community.

California Pay Transparency requires a pay range for all postings. The pay range for Dean of St. Francis School of Law is $140,000-$170,000.

The ideal candidate holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school or one accredited by the State Bar of California committees. A law license in good standing is required, though it does not need to be active, with a current California law license preferred. Candidates who are California residents or willing to relocate are strongly desired. Additionally, five years of experience in higher education, demonstrating progressive responsibility, is preferred, along with at least three years in a leadership role.
