Job summary

The role requires extensive experience as a systems administrator, particularly in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Administration and Linux system administration. Key responsibilities include monitoring and auditing systems, translating architectural requirements, and deploying scalable, highly available systems. The candidate should be proficient in selecting appropriate services based on requirements, estimating costs, and migrating workloads to cloud providers using Terraform. Experience with virtualization technology, cloud security services, and third-party SaaS integration is essential. Additionally, the role involves implementing cloud infrastructure designs, leading automation efforts, and scripting with tools like Ansible. Knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud, APEX, OKE, and core database administration is also required, along with excellent communication skills. Hold current Oracle Cloud Architect Associate Level Certification

Job responsibilities

* Relevant experience as a systems administrator in a systems operations role.

* Experience on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Administration required.

* Strong knowledge on Linux system administration.

* Experience in monitoring and auditing systems

* Ability to translate architectural requirements.

* Ability to deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems.

* Capability to select the appropriate services based on compute, data, or security requirements.

* Ability to estimate usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms.

* Capability to migrate on-premises workload to cloud service providers.

* Ability to work with virtualization technology.

* Ability to implement cloud security services.

* Ability to work with third-party SaaS providers and third party development partners on integration.

* Ability to implement cloud infrastructure designs provided by architects.

* Ability to lead and contribute to the development, maintenance, and usage of deployment and task automation (OS, database services, virtual networks, or other platform services)

* Experience in scripting (BASH, Perl, Ruby, PowerShell, Python, ) and building required automation (using standard technologies such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef) and tools.

* Experience with server OS and storage technologies required.

* Administration and Deployment of OIC integration.

* Administration and Deployment of APEX, OKE.

* Good relevant experience on Oracle core database administration skills

* Excellent oral/written communication.

Minimum Qualifications

* 10+ years' experience in supporting highly customer-focused mission critical environments (e.g. high-profile internet based applications or enterprise infrastructure) is essential.

* 5+ years' experience of engineering, administration, or supporting Oracle IaaS/PaaS solutions.

* Knowledgeable in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure service components

* Experience of implementing and supporting OCI based instances and services (e.g. Compute, Network, Storage, Dockers, DBCS, ExaCS, ADW, ATP etc).

* Experience of administration and maintaining scalable and auto-scaled environments using automation and configuration management tools (e.g. Terraform/Ansible/Puppet/Chef)

Preferred Qualifications

* Ability to work on multiple challenging projects in parallel

* Experience of Continuous Integration and technology advantageous

* Hold current Oracle Cloud Architect Associate Level Certification

* 10+ Years of Oracle Technology project implementation and/or production support experience

* 5+ years of Cloud Infrastructure implementation and/or support experience (OCI preferably)

* System Integrator Consulting Experience

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $112,500 to $132,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
