This internship position - which is part of the Verizon Campus Program - will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm while learning from the best minds in the industry. You'll be doing hands-on projects to support employee engagement and employee relations through the course of this 10-week experience. You will take part in meaningful work and real-life projects within the Human Resources Organization that will help you grow both professionally and personally throughout the program, and could be the pathway to future development program opportunities.

As a Human Resources Communications Intern, you may have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and refine internal communication materials, including updates, newsletters, and project overviews tailored to business team stakeholders.

  • Streamline communication processes by creating templates, guidelines, and workflows for internal messaging.

  • Assist with the design and implementation of strategies to improve engagement with L&D programs, including crafting compelling messaging to drive participation.

  • Support communication for key initiatives, such as leadership training programs, onboarding experiences, and team development projects.

  • Monitor and analyze internal communication metrics to identify areas of improvement and assess the impact of communication efforts.

  • Conduct research on internal communication best practices and tools to enhance efficiency and alignment.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

In this hybrid internship, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid internship will be based out of Basking Ridge, NJ. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

You'll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human Resources, Communications, Labor Relations or a related major with an expected completion date between December 2025 and June 2026.

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

  • Willingness to work in Basking Ridge, NJ.

Even better if you have:

  • Previous internship in human resources and/or demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in human resources.

  • Coursework or previous internship experience in the following: communications, data analytics, organizational design, human resources management, leadership and change management.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to understand multiple perspectives and customer needs.

  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated verbal, written, communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft Teams, and intranet platforms; familiarity with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Interest in employee engagement, internal communications, and process improvement.
