The Events Manager will assist with the implementation and coordination details for special events and conferences associated with CHASS. This position will work approximately 50% time with the Performing Arts department and approximately 50% time with the CHASS Facilities department. TheEvent Manager is responsible for overseeing front-of-house operations for performances, special events, and conferences at various performing arts venues, including theUniversity Theatre (UT), ARTS Studio Theatre, HUMN 411 and Performance Lab. This role plays a key part in managing front-of-house and ticketing services for allUT eventsas required. The Event Manager will oversee front-of-house activities across all venues including managing a workforce of approximately10-20 student workers, including ushers, ticket takers, box office staff, and other necessary positions. They will also serve as the primary resource for managing theUniversity Theatre ticket services database, handling event setup, reporting, and client services. Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detailare essential for thisEvents Specialist IIrole. The incumbent will communicate directly with both internal and external clients to identify their needs for an event and participate with management in any necessary negotiations for their contract. The Events Manager will ensure the proper paperwork is obtained and UCR policies and procedures are followed throughout the coordination of events. The work schedule will vary based on event schedules, withafternoon and weekend availabilityrequired. The Event Manager will also provideleadership and conflict resolutionduring event emergencies.
The full salary range for the Events Manager is $26.82 - $46.17 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
