JOB SUMMARY:

Proper handling of materials and new goods. Safe and efficient operation of warehouse equipment such as manual hand jacks, electrical hand jacks and forklifts. Reviewing store order reports and fulfilling all new goods requests. Loading trailers with any/all store merchandising items such as sizing tags, barbs etc. Always maintain a professional and courteous attitude. Flexibility to assume new job responsibilities as needed. Commitment to improvement and team building.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loads and unloads materials from all trailers/trucks
  • Responsible for receiving and inventory of all new goods arriving at the warehouse
  • Put new goods merchandise away in the designated location
  • Pick, pack and shrink wrap all out bound store new goods orders
  • Report any discrepancies to the New Goods Manager
  • Safe operation of warehouse equipment including manual hand jacks, electrical hand jacks and forklifts; Responsible for maintenance and proper storage of equipment; Report and document accidents according to procedures
  • Maintains new goods section in an orderly fashion. Separates and stacks like products together
  • Daily review of the staple order form to determine what gets sent to each retail store
  • Additional duties as assigned and may from time to time assist with other warehouse operations at the request of the Director of Operations

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education (GED) preferred
  • 3 months of related warehouse experience preferred

SCOPE OF SUPERVISION:

  • NA

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Active forklift operator's certification or earned within 30 days of hire

Lifting up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Travel is defined as travel to all areas within Goodwill's territory (Cecil, Harford, Baltimore, Howard, and Anne Arundel Counties, Baltimore City and the entire Eastern Shore of Maryland). In some cases, long-distance travel, including overnights may be required but is typically planned in advance. In some cases, travel may be unplanned. For positions requiring travel, employees must have access to their own transportation.
