The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Life Enrichment/Activity Department to ensure that ongoing activities programming is designed to meet the interests and well-being of each resident.

Responsibilities:



  • Develop and distribute a monthly activities calendar and newsletter for residents and family members
  • Coordinate and schedule outside vendors and presenters
  • Participate in community event planning with the marketing staff
  • Prepare person centered Activities as a description for the monthly calendar
  • Create and update residents service plan preferences in their electronic health record
  • Make routine visits to residents
  • Plan, prepare and operate under the Activities budget
  • Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies
  • Attend quarterly LED meetings


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education preferred
  • Must have a minimum of two years' experience in a social or recreation program or similar experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Food Handlers Card required upon hire
  • Knowledge and experience caring for and interacting with an elder population
  • Knowledge of computers, data entry/retrieval, output, etc.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, or regulatory agencies.
  • Able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the public
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
