About the Role:

We are seeking a visionary Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at Keysight. In this leadership role, you will define and drive a bold vision while leading the team's technical execution with hands-on contribution, mentoring, and direction. You will be at the forefront of developing innovative ML solutions for our next-generation design and test products, tackling complex technical challenges and leveraging your expertise in deep learning, predictive modeling, and algorithm development to create impactful solutions.

As a top technical leader of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on pioneering projects, develop state-of-the-art algorithms, and contribute to the evolution of technologies that enable the next generation of design and test products, including those for the 6G and AI data center era.

In this role, you will also act as a bridge between the central AI team and various business units within Keysight. By collaborating closely with different departments, you will help stimulate and imagine new product opportunities and use cases for machine learning technologies. Your ability to understand and translate business needs into technical solutions will be crucial in driving innovation and ensuring that our AI/ML solutions align with the broader goals of the company. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of creativity and exploration, encouraging teams to push the boundaries of what's possible and deliver cutting-edge products that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Your responsibilities will include leading the design and maintenance of big data-driven predictive models, spearheading the development of state-of-the-art machine learning models and building infrastructure tools to support the full lifecycle of ML models. You will guide and

inspire a team of engineers, ensuring the seamless integration of AI/ML solutions into our products and driving significant improvements in business metrics and user engagement.

We seek a self-starter with strong programming skills, hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch, and a passion for developing intuitive, well-architected, and maintainable software tools. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, validation, and maintenance of big data-driven predictive models, pipelines, and tools to enhance user engagement, leveraging the latest machine learning technologies and user pattern recognition.
  • Implement cutting-edge machine learning models to optimize business metrics and facilitate end-to-end deployment.
  • Develop infrastructure tools to enhance the development, deployment, and overall lifecycle management of machine learning models.
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders, ranging from customers to internal leadership, to ensure alignment with customer needs and drive successful outcomes.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach, understanding and prioritizing customer needs (before they do), and effectively conveying these insights to development teams.
  • Inspire and challenge development teams to achieve ambitious goals sustainably, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD with a minimum of 8 years of experience, with deep expertise in predictive ML, not just GenAI applications.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership guiding ML engineers.
  • Proven track record of successfully shipping AI products from concept to deployment, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality, impactful solutions in real-world applications.
  • Extensive expertise in deep learning (DL) and statistical machine learning (ML).
  • Experience working cross-organizationally to identify and integrate technology streams into a common solution.
  • Thorough understanding of predictive modeling and various machine learning algorithms for supervised and unsupervised learning.
  • Strong programming skills, including proficiency in Python and C++.
  • Hands-on experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Extensive experience with the complete MLOps workflow, encompassing data platform, training infrastructure, and edge deployment infrastructure.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and independently explore innovative ideas to enhance products and operations.
  • Strong collaborative and creative mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualification:

  • PhD in AI/ML, Computer Science or related field, and experience as an established technology visionary. Must have deep predictive ML expertise, not just GenAI application.
  • Familiarity with Keysight products and domains, demonstrating an understanding of the technology and market landscape in commercial communications, aerospace/defense, and industrial electronics.
  • Passion for developing intuitive, maintainable, and well-architected software tools/apps.

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.

CA pay range: MIN $207,360 - MAX $345,600

CO pay range: MIN $192,000 - MAX $320,000

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
